Football Anyone?

Football Anyone?

Cowboys and the Packers-

It’s football, not a fight;

Dear friends are sitting together

To make America right.

Both have different views

About how our nation should be-

Each stand for what they believe in:

To keep America free.

Yet what is freedom really?

To force our views on others?

To truly go against what we want …

And hate our sisters and brothers?

Hate is such a strong word-

But isn’t that what we do?

We look past the beliefs,

And hate people for points of view.

Couldn’t we instead be like Jesus,

And listen to their heart…

And make America great again

With a brand new start?

Begin with a game of football-

Or something that fancies your delight;

Become friends sitting together

To make America right.

Springing Up With Surprises

Full Bloom

The sky is overcast with off and on showers. The temperature says it’s 40 degrees but I think it’s more closer to 35 or colder with the wind. It’s supposed to be spring out. Doesn’t that mean the air is supposed to feel more like 60’s and above with the sun shining all the time?

But you know what I saw when I took my dogs out? Buds on my lilac bush! They didn’t care about the cold temps, the wind, the gloom. These tiny buds were doing exactly what they were supposed to be doing along with so many others around the rest of the bush. Which reminds me that I need to keep my focus on what I need to be doing; blooming despite my surroundings….knowing that my petals and aroma will bring beauty, joy and pleasure to someone, somewhere……and especially our Creator ❤

Springtime, Where Are You?

Why doesn’t a farmer wait by a seed to watch it grow?

Or dig it up to see if it is breathing?

How painful it is to wait!

The birds tease with their song –

I’ll go take a nap.

Gardner’s Friend

Her hands are full of dolls and blocks;
Arms hold those that hold these treasures;
Never stopping twice for herself; just a friend –
to carry them out of savage weather.
Smiles have always carried her through the storms;
But sometimes her tears God does catch.
Gently He tips this pail over the sweetest smelling roses
gardening in His Friendship patch.

The Boot

A seed is planted

deep within rich soil

heavy boots are removed;

fingers want to dig up this tiny life –

oh how this must stop!

For if the life is to grow

through time,

one must

walk away…

watering the garden

from time to time –

listening

to God’s voice.

Eventually their might be

a flower;

perhaps even some fruit.

All because of waiting,

removing the heavy boot.

Seeds

So tiny;
Many shapes
and sizes
even a variety of color.
Many carried by the wind;
Others planted
by a plan.
Each require
sunlight ,
water,
soil
and wind
in order to grow.
Some will become
shade, building materials, paper….
Others provide
Nourishment, medicine…
Many will be
Worn, wrote upon….
Yet ALL will provide
Beauty and clean air.
