Questions swarm around my head

Staring at my sentence.

I am in a jam for what I said,

Now I feel repentant.

Will this period ever pass?

“I’m sorry!” I exclaim-

What can I do to make this right?

How can I clear my name?

Ellipses won’t save me –

They’re just a bunch of periods

Taking up time and space!

Help me to make my mark, 

To turn another page-

Before I find the hyphen 

Within my old age.
