I have an appointment and after that I’ll post new ones here 😎

Tick-Tock, Will It Stop?

Tick-Tock, Will It Stop?

Moments away before we turn a new year;

Walking with hope, ignoring our fear.

Will anything change? That’s up to me-

To make the right choices on how to be free.

I could easily sit in my pjs all day

ordering out; having my way…

as time leaks past… waiting for none-

everyone changes… but I am just one.

I’m safe with the choices that I make;

here in my pjs, there’s no give and take…

but what if I lived through another heartbeat;

Would I be happy? Would I be me?

What would I do? What choices surround?

Would I be lost? Could I be found?

Who would I follow? Who would I teach?

What are the tools with the world I would reach?

My blood would stay red; and as long as I have breath,

what good’s pajamas as long as there’s death?

Is it really freedom in my pjs I ignore,

life around the world, just outside my front door?

Moments away before we turn a new year;

walking with hope, ignoring our fear;

may I open my eyes and open my heart;

live like my Savior from the very start!

Jesus, help me improve lives… starting with mine;

I have to hurry up now before there’s no time.

Salute

With memorial day coming up I wanted to share these poems :
The Colors Of Our Flag
Shots are heard from across the ocean;

Our world is a little safer tonight.

Someone will be resting too,

Because they saw through our eyes….
Sitting here writing these words,

As explosions rearrange geography;

I’m worried about what to wear tomorrow…

When others fight to keep us free.
How can I complain about this or that

And demand to have things done my way?

Have I become a thankless enemy-

When so many heroes sacrifice each day?
Taps Across The Ocean
Broken hearts and broken hopes

in what seems a world away;

Blood baths don’t ever clean anyone-

Loved ones fight every day;
Men and women who volunteer,

Knowing they might not come back….

Giving all for our freedom here-

Their love doesn’t lack.
Moms, dads….all family and friends;

Even sons and daughters too-

Wear their uniforms for their country…

But are they the forgotten who?
Graves blanket this whole earth,

Holding memories never forgot;

Each one should be told of

Freedom which was sacrificially bought….
So that you and me may enjoy the sun,

Ride a bike, laugh with a friend-

Pray with me each every day……

That this war on life will end.

Save This Dance For Me

Thanks to Claire Bartlett for her photo so I may do this WIP 💞

Bird On The Box

My next project…. I drew this in November of 1999….would look great on a box 😉

Threads Of The Flag

The freedom to paint without fear….the freedom to paint, create, laugh, play…. To imagine where life might lead chasing dreams…. My young friends and I had fun learning what freedom is: we watched two videos on Veteran’s day, had a discussion about all the things we love doing, then they made these awesome flags 😎👍 thank you to all who have made this day possible!!!

From Where The Night Ends

What form of light
would you use
to illuminate a room ?
Why turn on a lamp?
When will you
ignite the flame?
How will you
keep the candle glowing ?
Who will you
pass the torch to?

Freedom’s First Flight

An eagle takes flight
by flapping it’s wings –
A commanding
of the air
to carry to heights
unknown to most.
And with a quiet surrender
with feathers stretched out…
Free falling
to the target
the bird’s eyes were on…
securing The Prize!
Carry me
O Majestic Bird;
teach me to trust
like You!
That I might rest
upon the Mountaintop
after the hunt
in the valley ….

Wrinkles In Communion

No yeast in the recipe as Wrinkles stretch across the Wafer; a continual reminder of my mistakes that have imprisoned me with their increasing weight. The Cup is quite heavy, though just a thimble full of juice. My watch “tisk, tisks” with each passing second …. Will I answer my heart’s question, “does Communion weigh more than what I’m carrying?”
