Flashback Friday 10

My skin was so warm as beads of sweat ran down the sides of my face and the back of my neck. All I could think about was the window box air conditioner that seemed to purr in the cool room while my mom and us kids dug in the dirt. We were to follow a pattern so the seeds weren’t too close or they would grow and choke each other out. But how could she stand here so long? We’ve been out here for what seemed like hours? Wasn’t she thinking about the cool air, too? My mother taught us with such grace.

Grandma was the same way, except we were to gather beans, peas and other vegetables grown in their garden. I remember not being able to wait to get to the picnic table under the large tree in front of their white house to sit and snap beans and peas. They were so delicious!!!

Oh how if only I could flash back and spend more moments gleaning from what Mom and Grandma were trying to teach me, then maybe my garden wouldn’t be suffering. But I am thankful that the sun is shining ❤ Even when the clouds try to hide it…the sun is still shining ❤

The Medicine Doctor

***Wipes away dust, coughing from excess amounts***

It has been far too long since I have written a post! Sure, I have posted a few awesome selections, yet….please forgive me for staying away. I have been sick and am still sick, but I have the most awesome doctors taking care of me, along with countless people praying for me, not to mention a TOTALLY COOL God healing me too. As I have in the past, my focus was on my storm, and not on the One who could calm my storm.

I have missed looking through your eyes, reading your posts and sharing my world with you. Saturday Stews have not been warming hearts as they should be or Flashback Fridays….those are always fun and too many have passed.

You all are such a beautiful treasure worth far beyond any material possession this earth has to offer and I look forward to getting to know each of you as much as I can 🙂

Flashback Friday 7

Ok. I’m a bit early, again. But that’s still OK 😉 I just love the colors of this photo. They are so simple and sweet, just like my grandparents. Squishy hugs and gooey, tasty deserts from grandma, while grandpa serenaded us with his guitar with dad.  Sometimes they did actor impersonations, which was awesome to listen to!  I believe that’s where my love for puppetry got it’s start 😉  Not Sesame Street ❤Image

Flashback Friday 5

ImageHere we are with a bunch of most amazing friends having church in the park on a very hot day!  The view was captivating as the music was incredible while we were carried away from all of our cares that try to weigh us down.  I share this photo because when I was a child I used to pick these white flowers up and say my prayer and blow every one of them away…and if there were any left, well I would grab it off and toss it into the air and watch it fly, trusting in those little white helicopters.  Since those delicate moments, I’ve had some harsh realities that crush those soft flowers. But God is so much stronger, for the Bible says in Galatians “1:3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen”  So, as trials arrive, which they will…I can stand confident that I am never alone ❤

Flashback Friday 4

Starting about 11:45 yesterday afternoon after I was at a meeting , while I waited for my hubby to finish what he was doing, something hit me…. I will spare you the details.

Yet, how I long for the days to be the little girl in my mother’s arms again as she’s pampered me back to health… Even if she swiped Vick’s Vapor Rub under my nose 😉

Flashback Friday

Pictures paint sites everywhere I go, it seems. I love looking into each of the photos, almost hearing the sounds that brought this photo to life.

Today I am hoping to start a type of a Flashback Friday for me, using what I’ve posted.  I pray you enjoy the journey back with me. So grab another cup of your favorite drink and click the hyperlink 🙂
