Saturday Stew 2

Last Saturday I began “Saturday Stew”
I’ll let you step back to that date and check out the “ingredients”…for now I will begin with prayer.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our God… For all the sacrifices You ‘ve made because of Your great love for us. Holy Spirit, I ask that we be emptied out of any stress, pride, pain and be filled with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, Your strength that helped you carry Your cup , Your forgiveness even when those You love spit on You , along with everything else needed to be who You are creating us to be. Amen .

My question today is :

What is something on your bucket list? Why is it there?

One of mine is to be healthy enough to walk across a rope bridge and do it .

I choose this because I am afraid of heights and also there are a group of men and boys in the Royal Ranger outpost at our church who have done it fearlessly…, though they may have been terrified… They place their trust in others to help them across a distance of a single rope….not platform . At this time my fear is on my storms…. I want to be in the place where I focus only on the One who can calm my storms and lead me to safety .

If you would like someone to pray with you through a storm you or someone you know might be currently going through , contact me:

We need You now, just as we did back then. We thank You for what You gave up to rescue us from our sinful, forgetful, confused….who we are state. Thank You. Thank You doesn’t seem enough to say. That’s because there isn’t enough to say. There isn’t even enough to do. But I want to make things right. I want to turn things around as I can. That’s why I am studying to become a pastor. No Jesus. You know I’m not saying that I’m better than anyone else. I’m just going to try and change me. And if anyone else would like help along the way, I pray You help me with everything we need such as strength, peace, reconciliation, forgiveness, purity, and more.  And all those things I was told not to talk about as I was growing up, show us how to teach our children without teaching them to grow up too fast ❤ We love you Jesus ❤

I am reading a book called Maximized Manhood. My husband and another leader in our church asked me to read it for an upcoming class.  It is an incredible book! At first I was a bit embarrassed reading it because it is a book written just for men.  Yet, as I am reading it, I am finding it is a book about the author speaking to a group of men, tired of the way life has been and the pain it has carried, along with all the weight and struggles. He challenges them to make changes from that moment on, to purify their lives in Christ, to rid themselves of the heartache and struggle. Oh, it is so beautiful!!  I’ve only read two chapters, but I’ve been crying because it’s awesome to see such sweetness!! What heroes!!!

Oh, look at me!! I’m getting tears all in the stew!!

You all are soooo very worth every ounce of hearty stew!!! Don’t ever let the enemy tell you otherwise!! The Bible says in John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

I’ve been sick for too long. I want to continue to have life everlasting ❤

Here is the book at Amazon if you are interested in reading it:

You are the Light of the world, for it is so dark here. While You were on this earth You taught us to be light, even salt.  You showed us how to live though our actions, not just by what we say. God, I pray that we can bring hope to a freezing world that is dying to hear Truth.

So many days have been filled with rain, but today the sun was shining here!  Oh it was glorious! I know my friends and I are still rejoicing over this day.   Yet,  this still would have been a day to celebrate, even if the clouds got in the way.  We knew the Son was still shining, we would trust.

How do you ask the Son to shine?

I start through prayer and praise.

Sometime it’s through blessing others with our time. Other times it’s with blessing with a phone call or a letter.  Whichever direction the Lord leads ❤

We just gotta do something:

I would love to hear from you 😀

Dear Jesus, I thank You for what you have given up for us, that we might have life everlasting, ever so complete!! Forgive us for forsaking You ❤ I pray that our eyes and hearts are open to what You are speaking to us and teach us each day ❤

Yuck!! Yellow gunk, hardened. Black crumbs, speckling the grey Teflon coating of my waffle iron! I had poured vegetable oil over the griddle to let it soak, thinking that would help remove the grossness, to no avail. Scrubbing did little to remove any of the baked on grease and remaining food.

Yes, I now know how to make waffles in there, but to clean a waffle iron…this was…is an embarrassing topic. Yet do you know, I found out something. The Holy Spirit had me plug the waffle iron in and heat it up as if I was going to make some waffles. I waited a few minutes until it was good and hot, then all I did was wipe it down. Simple. All that time before spent scrubbing and being stressed, not getting my waffles due to a dirty iron…what wasted time.

I find when I go through the heat of life that the Holy Spirit carries me through, peeling me out of those difficult situations, as I am trusting Him.  It is those times when I am coldhearted, when my focus is off, when there is a lesson I have to learn that I have to wait a little bit longer. Whatever the reason, God has a plan, for how He is “cleaning” things up in my life. Whether it be on this earth, or whether I get to celebrate with my Dad and Grandparents and all my loved ones in heaven, I know I will be filled with joy everlasting as I am practicing my faith praising my King ❤

Luke 10:41“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things,42 but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

If only going through the difficult times were so easy ❤

Jesus, I thank You for everything You have done, that nothing we can do or have done will ever change the limitless love that You have for us ❤

Tonight I was given an invaluable gift I want to share with you ❤

Yellow – all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. Romans 3:23

Black – the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Red – God provides His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

White – For by grace you are saved, through faith and it is not from yourselves; it is a gift from God-not from works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Green – If you confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, resulting in salvation . Romans 10:9-10

If you've never had a personal relationship with Jesus, I invite you to pray with me now .

Remember we have all fallen …and it is the wages , something we earn is death…. But Jesus brings us the gift of Salvation, LIFE ❤

All we do is say " Jesus I have sinned , I have done wrong. Apart from You , I deserve death. I thank You for paying my debt. I repent , I need You to come into my life and fill me anew each day . You alone are Lord Jesus ❤ Amen <3"

I had just come out of the pharmacy with my hubby after missing my appointment. All of life’s sadness just hit me like a torrential storm. I couldn’t stop the tears, no matter how hard I tried. Oh, believe me, I thought of ReAlLy HUGE pink spotted elephants bouncing through my head…crumpling everything! Yet, that only lead my tears to sobbing.

Cars really need to have window shades for moments like this! It would make millions I’m telling you! But I couldn’t hide from life.

My hubby drove to a coffee shop around the block known as “Fast Eddies”, which had closed about a month ago. I had made a crazy comment, which surprised my hubby (sorry ….I don’t remember 😉 ) which made me laugh, which I needed. My eyes continued to water….and we went into the craft shop (I forced myself to face life)…But the ending to this story, is that I made it through.

I tell you this…because you will have moments like mine too, when IT will all hit you. Child, YOU will get through.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

What helps you through your storms of life?

Jesus, I know it’s getting late and there is so much to be done tomorrow, but You…You know that. You will be with us, guiding us, showing us each step. Everything will be ok. Take a deep breath. Release. Take another one. Exhale. Thank You Jesus that You died upon the Cross and made a way…with You, I can do this. Thank You ❤

Galatians 5: 1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Today I woke up and heard the wind howling.  I wondered if my friend would want to go walking today.  Quickly I texted a supportive text stating I would go, yet it was understandable considering the circumstances.  Soon one of us called the other and we decided to meet through the blizzard conditions. There was too much to get done.

Our hair whipped about as our fingers began to turn blue after we parked our car.  Once the wind almost slammed the car door into another car! Fortunately we were parked far enough away 😉

Just as my friend was getting ready to drop me off after our errands, she received a call and asked me if I wanted to help with a situation….I was looking forward to putting my feet up…but I decided to help. So back out I went and had a most wonderful evening with tremendous people!

Now, I could have chose to stay home, from the very beginning of the day. That would have been fine. Yet, I was missing so much by passing opportunities like the ones I participated in today. Thank you!

What freedom have you recently experienced?

Last week I was so busy with the Ranger Derby Race that I missed posting Saturday Stew…and possibly Flashback Friday! My Apologies.  You can read about the Ranger Derby here:

Then there was so many other things I needed to do, when I got hit BIG TIME with the WHAMMIE sick stick.  I am just beginning to feel a titch like myself, but at the same time….the enemy likes to jump in and remind me of all the responsibilities I’ve missed out on.  But God’s God a GREATER PLAN! HE reminded me of this song and showed me this version.

What song carries you though the night?

Yesterday in Harsh Reality, OM had asked his readers “if you could go back and change one decision in your past, what would it be?” I am going to post the link to the answers so you can read the replies.

Here’s what I said to His question: “I wish I was a voice for my friend. It was during high school and a group of boys I used to know were standing in halls talking. Along walks this tall, lanky friend holding all of his books in his arms. One of these “boys” sticks out his foot and the friend who I used to go skating with quite frequently with because our moms set up play dates…his books went flying in different directions while he glided across the tiled floor as the bullies roared with laughter…and I did nothing. This story continually haunts me because my friend entered the military and was killed. It has also has helped me find my voice.

Yesterday a friend had invited me out to lunch with her, then to walk around to keep the blood flowing before it freezes in these icy temperatures. Too often I have misplaced my priorities, so I accepted. We enjoyed lunch at lunch together then went window shopping. Slowly we strolled through the isles, feeling the results of eating too much. It was when my eyes caught the butterfly of a picture frame (shown below) that my mind quickly did a flashback to OM’s question, as I read the acronym A.S.A.P. It’s a butterfly effect. We have to act quickly, or the moment may be gone. Yet, pray.

My question for you: What is your Butterfly Effect?

My answer to this question is publishing this post, to be a voice for those who need one. We can start the music in their lives.

We praise You for all that You have done, for thinking of us at the very beginning of time, when there was nothing….seeing us through until we are something because of Your great love for us. Lord, I pray that as we go through our days and nights, wherever we are….geographically, emotionally, spiritually, physically….may we be emptied out of our selfish ways and be filled with Your compassion, forgiveness, strength, endurance, healing, trust, boldness, love and whatever else we may need to complete that task You have given us to do.

Recently, I attended my first writer’s group where we began our discussion with where the topics of the movies and books have traveled through the years. I love the black and white movies where they are singing, and I go through a case of Kleenexes (I know it’s pathetic, really). Drama movies always get me as well. I’ve even been known to bring Kleenexes to Superhero movies.

Ok. Ok. Before you click yourself away from my site with all this icky sap….there is a purpose for stating the above. I love to write, mostly poetry because I have yet to find a way of when I start……um, where was I?

While stirring the pot for today’s Saturday stew, I thought about the blogs I’ve been reading and what I want to share. Here are just a few –

The post by Spiritbath tells of a soldier’s disobedience because he understood what love is. ;

AB’s post “Extinction” a poem about a war that never ends. ;

OM’s post about children being in the middle of countries at war. ;

Gimme Shelter Movie trailer

Gimme Shelter poem

and an incredible article by Holistic Wayfarer about a mother’s love and forgiveness.

“The tongue has no bones, but is strong enough to break a heart; so be careful with your words.”

Proverbs 18:21 “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit-you choose.”

My words are powerful.

I’m not exactly sure where we are today in film or literature, but I know I can choose to start building bridges with my pen.

Your words are powerful. What would you like to add to this Saturday Stew?
